Program: responsible for coordinating all activities related to creating the program. Communicates with director/producer for cast list and production area personnel. Solicits biographies and boosters from cast and crew. May solicit paid advertising from the cast and local businesses. Develops program layout including any graphics needed. Creates program and reviews with director, producer and cast. Arranges for copies of program and delivers to house manager on day of show.
Sound Person: Runs CD player with sound (music and effects) from sound booth or back of house. Must attend all dress rehearsals and performances and be familiar with sound cues in script. May create CD with music and sound effects if needed.
Costume Assistant: Assists costumer as needed. Duties may include making or obtaining costume pieces. Assist at costume checks as needed. May help cast with dressing and changes backstage.
Prop Assistant: Assists prop master as needed. Duties may include making or obtaining prop pieces.
Set Crew: Under set coordinator’s direction, construct, draw and/or paint set as per set design. May help obtain materials and transport sets to and from venue.
Rehearsal Assistant: Be available at rehearsals for a wide variety of duties including assisting stage manager with onstage activities such as giving line and entrance/exit cues. May supervise children backstage or offstage. May also assist choreographer or musical director as needed.
House: Under house manager’s direction, sell tickets, raffles and concession items. May collect tickets and/or hand out programs. Help set up and break down house.
Backstage: Under stage manager’s direction, work either backstage or in the dressing room during the show. Backstage activities include prompting, curtain, cueing cast for entrances/exits, props placement, and set changes. Must be present at all dress rehearsals. Dressing room activities include supervising children, helping with costume changes, hair and makeup.
Cast Party: Plan and execute cast party. Obtain volunteers as needed. Determine venue, day and time as well as what food/drink should be served and if there should be a charge. Communicate to cast and crew and solicit head counts. Obtain all food/drinks (donations or otherwise) and coordinate set-up and break-down of party.
