The Putnam Children’s Discovery has many wonderful STEM activities.

TWO Students from our Fair earn TOP 300 at Broadcom- 2020

These two students earned  top 300 Broadcom MASTERS status from a pool of 3,472 students from 42 states and Puerto Rico. Both achieved First Place at the Tri County Science & Technology Fair . Their paths started at the school level where they were selected to  come to  our Fair. At our Fair they not only won Awards but they placed in the top 10% making them eligible for the prestigious Broadcom Masters Nationwide competition.

Ishana Kumar
FIRST PLACE PHYSICS AWARD at 2020 Tri County makes top 300 at Broadcom Masters PLUS wins The Samueli Foundation Prize: $25,000

Irene Basu won First Place in Biology at Tri County and earned Top 300 at Broadcom 2020
Ishana’s  project  “Color is in the Eye of the Beholder: The Role of Retinal Fatigue on Imaginary Fechner Colors” using optical illusions to better understand cognitive processing  Irene, whose project is titled “The antibacterial effect of m ‘Ag’ nificent tiny particles,” conducted her research last year as part of the Pelham Middle School’s STEAM Club.
